Summer is coming! And so is lots of time outside in the sun.
Here's some sunscreens I won't be using for our family:

Every one of them has at least one of the following ingredients:
oxybenzone - disrupts hormones and may be carcinogenic)
octinoxate - may disrupt hormones and is toxic to aquatic life
avobenzone - interferes with metabolism, can negatively impact pregnancy, and may disrupt hormones
octocrylene - may disrupt hormones and is toxic to aquatic life
octisalate - may damage babies in utero and is very toxic to aquatic life
homosalate - damages DNA, may damage babies in utero, and is very toxic to aquatic life
or an ingredient from my always avoid list:
parabens
phthalates
PEGs
PPGs
Fragrance
Phenoxyethanol
PABAs
aluminum
Here are the sunscreens I WOULD recommend for you and your whole family:
Crunchi Sunlight Body + Daily Facial Sunscreen (code ADVOCATE10 for 10% off for new clients orders of $50+) - this is the sunscreen my entire family uses!
ThinkBaby Clear Zinc Sunscreen
Babo Botanicals Baby Skin Mineral Sunscreen Lotion
ATTITUDE Sunly Kids Mineral Sunscreen, Unscented
Stream2Sea Every Day Mineral Kids Sunscreen
In my healing journey, I mostly stopped wearing sunscreen and instead I focused on appropriate sun exposure - no more than 30-45 minutes in direct sunlight at a time, and choosing long sleeves, hats, or shade if staying out longer. If I am out in direct sun for longer than that 30 - 45 minutes, THEN I will use a toxin free sunscreen.
Sunlight is GOOD for you so aim for 30 minutes of direct sunlight every day to support your body and its circadian rhythm.
